Does the listed cable length include the power cord?

No. Unless the product page specifically states otherwise, the listed length refers to the heating cable only. The cold lead or power cord is listed separately in the product specifications.

Should I choose an external pipe cable or an in-pipe cable?

External pipe heating cable is generally suitable for accessible pipes where the cable can be installed along the outside surface. In-pipe heating cable may be considered for buried or difficult-to-access lines. Always confirm whether the product is rated for potable water, drain lines or your specific application.

Can MAXKOSKO heating cable be cut to length?

Preassembled constant-wattage cables and in-pipe heating kits cannot be cut, shortened or altered. Only products specifically identified as bulk or cut-to-length self-regulating cable may be field cut, and all terminations must be sealed with the correct connection components.

Does self-regulating cable automatically turn itself on and off?

Not necessarily. Self-regulating cable adjusts its heat output as the surrounding temperature changes, but it may remain energized. Use a compatible thermostat or controller when automatic switching is required.

Should external pipe heating cable be covered with insulation?

Compatible pipe insulation is usually recommended because it helps retain heat and improves system efficiency. Do not cover plugs, GFCI components, thermostats or controllers unless the product instructions specifically permit it.
