Description
In-Pipe Freeze Protection with Integrated Y-Fitting
MAXKOSKO In-Pipe Heating Cable with Y-Fitting is designed to help protect drinking water pipes, buried water lines, concealed pipes, cabins, farm water systems, well water lines, and other freeze-prone pipe systems from freezing in winter.
Unlike external heat tape, this self-regulating heating cable is installed directly inside the pipe. The included Y-brass fitting provides a cleaner entry point and a smoother insertion angle, making it a practical solution for water lines where outside pipe wrapping is not possible.
Key Features
- Integrated Y-Fitting Design: Includes a heavy-duty Y-brass fitting with a 45° entry angle to help the cable enter the pipe more naturally and reduce cable stress during installation.
- Made for Drinking Water Pipes: Designed for potable water pipe freeze protection and built for direct in-pipe use.
- CSA & NSF/ANSI 61 Certified: Engineered for electrical safety and drinking water applications.
- Self-Regulating Heat Output: Automatically adjusts heat output as pipe temperature changes, providing more heat in colder conditions and reducing output as temperatures rise.
- 3W/ft Heating Performance: Provides efficient freeze protection for water supply lines and other compatible pipe systems.
- 230 PSI Pressure Rated: Built for pressurized water line applications, including buried or concealed pipe systems.
- Built-In GFCI Plug: Adds electrical protection for wet-location use by cutting power if leakage is detected.
- Fluoropolymer Outer Jacket: Helps provide long-lasting durability and safe performance inside water pipe systems.
Recommended Applications
- Drinking water pipes
- Buried water supply lines
- Concealed or wall-encased water lines
- Well water systems
- Lake, spring, or rural water supply lines
- Cabin and seasonal home water lines
- Farm barns and livestock water systems
- Sump pump lines and compatible drain pipes
Why Choose the Y-Fitting Version?
Choose this Y-Fitting version if you want a more integrated in-pipe heating solution for drinking water lines. The Y-fitting helps create a smoother cable entry path compared with many traditional side-entry setups, reducing the need for extra three-way connectors and making future inspection or service easier.
Pipe Compatibility
- Recommended for pipes 3/4 in and larger.
- Best suited for small to mid-sized pipe systems where a smooth cable entry path is available.
- Before ordering, confirm pipe size, required cable length, entry point, and whether the cable path is free from sharp bends or blockage.
Compare with Other MAXKOSKO In-Pipe Heating Cables
For drinking water lines where easy installation and a built-in pipe entry fitting are important, this Y-Fitting model is recommended.
If your project needs broader water, sewer, septic, drain, or sump line compatibility without the integrated Y-fitting, consider our upgraded high-pressure in-pipe heating cable option.
For sewer, septic, wastewater, or sump drainage applications only, our standard MAXKOSKO Sewage Pipe Heating Cable may also be a practical choice.
Important Notes
- Self-regulating heating cable adjusts heat output based on surrounding temperature, but it does not turn completely off by itself.
- To fully stop heating, disconnect power or use a compatible temperature controller.
- Do not force the cable through sharp elbows, blocked sections, collapsed pipes, or restricted fittings.
- Always follow the installation instructions and confirm compatibility before use.
