Wiring Instructions (What You Need to Know)

⚠️ Important Safety Notice

All wiring must be done by a qualified electrician. This ensures compliance with local electrical codes and protects both you and your heating system.

That said, understanding the basics will help you double-check the installation and communicate clearly with your installer.

Before Installation

Make sure the following points are covered:

1. Power is fully turned off at the breaker before any work begins
2. Wire size does not exceed 13 AWG
3. A floor sensor is installed
  a) Mandatory for wood floors (prevents overheating)
  b) Strongly recommended for all floor types

Skipping the floor sensor is one of the most common causes of issues later.

Wiring Overview (120V / 240V)

Here’s what each terminal is used for:

L – Live (power)
N – Neutral (power)
S/L–N – Load output to the heating cable (max 16A resistive load)
NTC – Floor sensor connection
Loose or missing sensor wiring may cause an E2 error
GROUND – Ground wires from both power supply and heating cable
Never skip grounding, it’s essential for safety

Mounting the Thermostat

1. Open the thermostat by gently prying the bottom slot with a small flat screwdriver
2. Secure the back plate to the wall box using the included screws
3. Align and press the front cover into place until it clicks
(Avoid pressing directly in the center of the screen)

Connecting the Thermostat to WiFi

The MAXKOSKO thermostat uses the Smart Life app for remote control, scheduling, and voice assistant integration.

  b) Select the thermostat when it appears
  c) Enter your 2.4GHz WiFi password

If WiFi Disconnects: What to Do

WiFi issues are usually network-related and easy to fix.

Step 1: Power Reset

1. Turn off power to the thermostat for 30 seconds
2. Turn it back on

This resolves most temporary connection issues.

Step 2: Reconnect WiFi

1. On the thermostat: Press and hold ▼ until the WiFi icon flashes quickly
2. In the app: Go to device settings → WiFi / Network → re-enter your password

Step 3: Check Your Router

1. Restart the router
2. Make sure 2.4GHz is still enabled
3. Reduce network load if many devices are connected

Step 4: Factory Reset (Last Option)

Use this only if nothing else works.

1. Perform a factory reset via the app: Advanced Settings → Factory Reset
2. Or follow the reset instructions on the thermostat itself

⚠️ A factory reset erases all schedules and custom settings

Important Notes Most Customers Ask About

Will My Settings Be Saved After a Power Outage?

When power is restored, it resumes normal operation—no reprogramming needed.

Installation Location Matters

For accurate temperature readings:

1. Mount about 5 ft (1.5 m) above the floor
2. Allow free air circulation
3. Avoid:
    a) Direct sunlight
    b) Areas where cold or hot air frequently blows
    c) Nearby heat sources
